“Radically Playful” at Carnegie Hall

"...the outlandish juxtapositions which defined all the evening’s sparkling notes necessary for surviving our haphazard universe." - Concertonet.com

Decoda took the stage at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in New York City for a multi-faceted program which spanned all the way from ragtime to folk music written for an imaginary culture, and a kitchen romance to a modern-day "musical offering". Works performed include Missy Mazzoli’s Ecstatic Science (2016), three Rags (1967-1971) by William Bolcom, Indigenous Instruments (1989) by Steve Mackey, the world premiere of Brad Balliett’s Ice Princess (Suite from an Imaginary ballet; after Rameau) (2019), and La revue de cuisine (1927) by Bohuslav Martinu.
