Richard Harris, Trombone

 Trombonist Richard Harris has crafted an eclectic career musical career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He has recorded with the British rock star Sting and has performed alongside a diverse range of musicians, such as pop artists Puff Daddy and Snoop Dogg and classical music stars Luciano Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli. His recording of Rimsky–Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" is featured as the sound–tag for 10.2 surround-sound technology. Richard has been a guest with many of the US’s top symphony orchestras, and in addition to performing with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra he is a member of the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra and regularly performs with other Broadway productions. Richard was a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music in London and is a former member of the New World Symphony Orchestra in Miami. As a chamber musician he has performed with The Canadian Brass, The Empire Brass, The Metropolitan Opera Brass Ensemble. A passionate advocate for music education, Richard regularly works for Carnegie Hall as a teaching artist and was the founding Executive Director of the Miami Music Project. Under Richard’s leadership the Miami Music Project bought chamber music to thousands of Miami-Dade County public school students. He is the former acting Assistant Principal Trombone of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
