Other Giving Opportunities

music for transformation

A flagship program of Decoda, Music For Transformation is inspired by the power of music to help with rehabilitation and anti-recidivism. These residencies promote self-expression in a creative space, strengthen citizenship within the prison community, and use collaborative activities to foster social and analytical skills for success.

“Music has a way of touching our minds, our hearts, even our very souls…Through music, even a prison’s climate can be changed.”
-Jimbo, incarcerated participant

Decoda Chamber Music Festival

The Decoda Chamber Music Festival is committed to investing in the future of live music through an accessible, high-quality, and affordable program. Your support helps sustain the full festival experience—making it possible for emerging artists to learn from and perform alongside internationally recognized musicians, while also bringing exceptional guest artists into the program. You can contribute by supporting the festival as a whole, sponsoring a student through scholarships that cover tuition and room & board, or underwriting guest artists who enrich the artistic experience for all. Every gift helps ensure a vibrant, transformative summer for the next generation of musicians.

the Xiaobao He Recording Project

Xiaobao He is a composer and jazz guitarist that was incarcerated at Sing Sing Correctional Facility for 15 years Xiaobao is known for writing exquisitely crafted melodies for chamber ensembles, and was a beloved member of the Sing Sing musical community. Decoda has championed Mr. He’s music over the past several seasons, and this recording will make Mr. He’s compositions available to the public for the first time, while simultaneously bringing attention to incarcerated artists, and providing inspiration for other artists in similar circumstances.
