Paul Wonjin Cho

Paul Wonjin Cho, recent appointee of Bass Clarinetist of Hartford Symphony Orchestra and principal clarinetist of the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, has been described as a “stylish clarinetist” by The New York Times. He served as guest principal with the American, Harrisburg, Link Up Orchestra of Carnegie Hall, New Haven, and Vermont symphony orchestras, and has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Singapore Symphony, and at the Tanglewood Music Center.

Upon completing the fellowship program Ensemble Connect, Paul joined Decoda and led the group on a couple tours to South Korea in 2017 and 2018. By invitation of Christian Broadcasting System, Decoda has performed in 7 different cities and reached over 4K audiences. As an active freelancer in New York City, Paul plays regularly at Redeemer Presbyterian Church weekly services, Broadway musicals, NOVUS NY at Trinity Church Wall Street, and with International Sejong Soloists.

He is taught at Adelphi University, University of Kentucky, Skidmore College, and Vassar College and is a faculty member of Horace Mann School. Paul holds degrees from the Korean National University of Arts, University of Southern California and the Yale School of Music, and studied with Dong-Jin Kim, Yehuda Gilad, David Shifrin respectively. Paul lives with his wife and a daughter and enjoys cycling in the Bronx. Paul is a F. Arthur Uebel clarinet artist.
