Decoda Chamber Music Festival 2025 Application

Applications are open to strings, winds, piano, and composer/performers. Pre-formed ensembles are also welcome. If you play another instrument not listed and you would like to apply, you are welcome to submit an application.

Application is FREE before January 15, 2025*.
*After January 15th, an application fee of $25 will be assessed.

Application Process
Step 1: Submit live, unedited videos of two contrasting works representing different time periods. One selection can be chamber music. If the selection is taken from a multi-movement work, applicants need only prepare one movement of the piece. Upload performances to YouTube and submit links in your application.

Step 2: Please answer the following questions in a video (this can be an informal video created on your phone or tablet:
1. How did you hear about DCMF?
2. What does it mean to be an artist? How do you value creativity and collaboration in your own musical life and in your community?
3. Please tell us why you are interested in participating in the Decoda Chamber Music Festival, and what you hope to gain from this experience?
4. Give an example of how you care for yourself and/or your community through your musical practice.
For pre-formed ensembles: what would you like to gain from your time working with Decoda? How can we best mentor your ensemble to help you achieve your dreams and goals?

Are you applying for a scholarship?

To apply for a need-based scholarship, submit the first two pages of your most recent tax return. Submit by February 14, 2025 to DCMF@decodamusic.org

Are you applying for a fellowship?

To apply for a fellowship, submit a personal statement detailing your chamber music experience, community engagement background, and any other information that you would like to share about yourself. We also require a letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor. Submit your fellowship materials by February 14, 2025 to DCMF@decodamusic.org.
