Decoda at Carnegie Hall Part 2

  • Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall 881 7th Avenue New York, NY, 10019 United States (map)

Missy Mazzoli’s pulsing energy, William Bolcolm’s ragtime syncopations, and Steven Mackey’s reinvention of the standard ensemble set the table for music by Rameau. Martinů'’s jazz-inflected score - about the lives of kitchen utensils - uses tango, 1920s Charleston, and other popular tunes to create a dizzying and delightful confection.
