Decoda returns for a second season as DePauw University's 2016-17 Ensemble-in-Residence. Decoda artists will travel to DePauw for two days Sept. 9-10 as featured performers and participants in the School of Music's 21CMposium, including the conference's opening Friday night concert.

2pm Workshop: How to Frame a Piece of Music

Decoda’s mission is to provide meaningful musical experiences for all audiences.
In this session, ensemble members will perform, then discuss a variety of methods for presenting pieces within a contextual framework--decoding how presentations are tailored for all types of listeners (young or old)! Each method is an entry point into the music, meant to draw in the audience so they arrive at a deeper and more active listening experience.
