On the heels of our four-concert series there last fall (and a terrific mention by Alex Ross in The New Yorker), Decoda is thrilled to be asked back to Trinity Wall Street for a program of spiritually powerful chamber music, featuring Messiaen's otherworldly Quartet for the End of Time, along with two Tenebraes and Barber's glorious Adagio. We're delighted to perform with the sensational harpist Bridget Kibbey for Nathan Shields's Tenebrae, a work written expressly for her; and the radiant soprano Melanie Russell from the Trinity Choir joins us in Golijov's Tenebrae (a work we performed in its string quartet version last fall at the Metropolitan Museum).
NATHAN SHIELDS Tenebrae for harp and string quartet
GOLIJOV Tenebrae for string quartet, clarinet, and soprano
MESSIAEN Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps
