As part of Carnegie Hall's Musical Connections Program, Decoda returns to Sing Sing Correctional Facility for four composition/songwriting workshops and two culminating performances in January and May. Partnering with workshop leader and musician/composer, Daniel Levy, and vocalist Emily Eagen, eight Decoda artists will work alongside the incarcerated musicians to create new works for an octet of violins, viola, cello, bass, clarinet, horn, and bassoon. Our initial visit to Sing Sing last season left us feeling incredibly inspired and alive with the amazing music these men composed and performed alongside us. We are very excited to return for our first workshop session on December 7th, 2013.
